Haridevpur Adarsha Samity Club has now grown up into a huge tree which gives a cool shade on the head of the local people through serving them.
Although Haridevpur Adarsha Samity Club is known for its social and cultural activities throughout the year, it has also become famous for the grand celebration of Durga puja organized by the Haridevpur Adarsha Samity Sarbojanin Durgotsab Puja Committee.
Haridevpur Adarsha Samity Club started celebrating Durga Puja from the year 1968, and since then the event has undergone massive changes and advancements. From the year 2006 the club started organizing ‘Theme” puja, attracting wide number of viewers.
Haridevpur Adarsha Samity Club had come up with different interesting themes for the Durga puja pandal during all these years like ‘Tentul Dana ‘(Tamarind Seeds), ‘Perek’ (Nail), ‘Kaanch’ (Glass), ‘Sandesh’ (A type of sweet) and ‘Narkel Gaach’ (Coconut tree).
This year Haridevpur Adarsha Samity Sarbojanin Durgotsab Puja Committee is working on a theme based on ‘Water Hyacinth’ for the Durga Puja 2011 The artisan who is developing the whole idea and project is Sri Tapan Chakraborty.
Tapan Chakraborty is honoured by National Award and UNESCO Award and is organizing the project with the help of 23 male and 24 female members of the club. The message behind the theme is to show the importance of preservation and conservation of aquatic animals and plants. Thus the Haridevpur Adarsha Samity Club hopes to enlighten as well as entertain viewers through their work and continue to achieve their praise and blessings forever.
